This is to inform that on 1 January 2019, new Cabinet Regulations came into force (hereinafter – Cabinet Regulations), which regulate external quality assessment procedures:

  • Cabinet Regulations No. 793 “Regulations Regarding Opening and Accreditation of Study Directions”
  • Cabinet Regulations No. 794 “Regulations Regarding Accreditation of Institutions of Higher Education and Colleges”
  • Cabinet Regulations No. 795 “Regulations Regarding Licensing of Study Programmes”
  • Cabinet Regulations No. 778 “Price-List of the Foundation “Academic Information Centre””

This is to inform that according to these new Cabinet Regulations, five quality assessment procedures have been specified:

  • licensing of a study programme;
  • accreditation of a study direction;
  • assessment of changes to a study direction;
  • inclusion of a licensed study programme in the study direction accreditation form;
  • accreditation of an institution of higher education or a college.

All mentioned procedures are organised by the Quality Agency for Higher Education (AIKA), meanwhile, for organising an assessment of a study direction, institutions of higher education and colleges can choose other quality assurance agencies which are included in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR).

According to these regulations, by 1 February 2019 AIC develops and publishes on its webpage documents that will specify the process of quality assurance procedures in detail. These documents include the guidelines for the preparation of self-evaluation report and the guidelines for the preparation of experts’ joint report.
