Accreditation of foreign study programmes is an assessment procedure that was developed with the aim to promote the services of the Quality Agency for Higher Education abroad. It is applicable in higher education systems where the legal framework foresees accreditation of study programmes. Within this procedure, separate study programmes are assessed and accredited.

In order to start the assessment and accreditation process, the Agency and the higher education institution enter into an agreement, which stipulates the rights and obligations of both parties, as well as the schedule and other requirements.

If, during the assessment process, the experts or the higher education institution detects any violations in the assessment process and/or unethical conduct of the parties involved in the assessment process, a complaint may be expressed to the assessment coordinator or submitted to the Agency in written, which is considered within one month from the submission date.

The decision on the accreditation of foreign study programmes is made by the Accreditation Commission for Foreign Study Programmes.

The decision of the Accreditation Commission for Foreign Study Programmes may be contested within one month by submitting an appeal, which is addressed to the Appeals Committee for Foreign Study Programmes. The composition of the Appeals Committee for Foreign Study Programmes is approved by the chairperson of the AIC board, based on the selection made by the Agency.

The Appeals Commission for Foreign Study Programmes acts in accoradance with Rules of Procedure of the Appeals Commission for Foreign Study Programmes.
